Background Investigator Robyn Gritz 

is an accomplished leader in security, US policy, successful investigations, & effective due diligence. 

During her FBI career, Ms. Gritz worked both criminal & terrorism matters. As an agent & supervisor, over Washington Field Office’s elite Extraterritorial Counterterrorism squad, she cultivated extensive experience in the areas of overseas abductions, fraud, money laundering, public corruption, multinational investigations, war crimes, criminal & counterterrorism violations & has been successful in federal court & within the FISA process. She led the most complex terrorism, hostage, & war crimes investigations within the FBI, & posses a strong background in oversight, compliance, & regulatory issues. 

Ms. Gritz was an Assistant Inspector in the FBI’s Inspection Division. Ms. Gritz conducted internal investigations, reviewed operational performance & audited how the FBI conducted investigations & other authorized activities.

During her career with the FBI, she led & personally deployed in concert with Counterterrorism investigations in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe, New Zealand, & the U.K. 

Ms. Gritz served on the National Security Council’s interagency Hostage & Personnel Recovery Working Group, which advised senior interagency leaders & the White House on abduction investigations, & recovery operations. 

Ms. Gritz enhanced her career in the FBI as the Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate’s Unit Chief over Executive Strategy. In this capacity, Ms. Gritz led the successful completion of the strategic analysis & planning for the directorate, which was ultimately codified in the WMDD’s award-winning Five Year Strategic Plan. This was used as a basis of her successful briefing the WMDD’s annual budget for two years.

Later, Ms. Gritz was selected & served as the embedded Senior GS-15, FBI Liaison to the CIA, specializing in the Horn of Africa. She was also selected as the FBI’s representative to a four month Advanced Security Studies program in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. She was one of 141 students from 43 countries represented. 

Ms. Gritz is a certified expert witness in DC District Court on counterterrorism & overseas abductions, specifically in Iran.
She is also a certified Police Instructor.  

Prior to the FBI, Ms. Gritz was a Juvenile Probation Officer in Camden, NJ. 

She is now a Texas-licensed Private Investigator who has investigated suspicious deaths, sexual assaults, due diligence, human trafficking, abductions, fraud, infidelity, & missing persons cases.
